20th European Student Colloid Conference

Donostia – San Sebastián

29 June – 2 July 2026

The European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) and the Materials Physics Center (CFM, CSIC–UPV/EHU) invite you to attend the 20th European Student Colloid Conference (ESC 2026), which will take place in Donostia / San Sebastián, Spain, from 29 June to 2 July 2026.

The ESC is a leading European conference for PhD students and early-career researchers working in colloid and interface science, soft matter, polymers, and biological systems, providing a unique environment to present research, exchange ideas, and build scientific connections.

The list of topics covered is listed below:

Interfaces, Wetting & Interfacial Phenomena

Interfaces, wetting, adhesion, superhydrophobicity, surface forces, lubrication, bubbles, foams, droplets, emulsions, and microemulsions.

Soft and Bioinspired Colloidal Systems

Bioinspired colloids, bio-interfaces, colloids in health applications, drug delivery, biosurfactants, lipids, membranes, and self-assembly.

Nanostructured and Functional Materials

Nanoparticles, nanostructured materials, nano-ions, ion-specific effects, active colloids, and catalytic or responsive systems.

Polymers, Gels & Complex Fluids

Polymers, hydrogels, microgels, polyelectrolytes, hydrocolloids, and rheology or dynamic behavior of complex fluids.
